Sexy salad

Did you try already balinese giant pomelo fruit, called Jeruk Bali?

The flavor is like a mild grapefruit – not as bitter, not as sour but definitely reminds you of grapefruit.  Pomelo is a type of citrus fruit that is native to South and SouthEast Asia.  It’s the biggest of all citrus fruit weighing between 2-4 pounds (1-2 kg).

Juicy and sweet pink divine fruit inspired me for Sexy salad. This salad is very simple to prepare, and the almond slices make it filling enough for a light lunch or dinner. This salad is strikingly beautiful and could make an excellent addition to your holiday table.

(for two servings)

  • Pomelo fruit
  • 1 cup fresh strawberry
  • Toasted Almond slices – 3 tbsp
  • About 3 cups Arugula and Oak leaf lettuce

For dressing:

  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil Extra Virgin
  • pinch of sea salt

Remove the thick pomelo rind with a knife and peel the membrane from around the segments. It takes work to get to the sweet, pulpy flesh. Then chop pomelo into bite-sized pieces.

Cut strawberry into a slices.

For dressing mix well all ingredients and whisk into an emulsion.

Arrange arugula and oak leaf lettuce on plates, top with pomelo, strawberry and almond slices. Pour the dressing over and toss to coat. Enjoy!
